Birmingham City University closed due to exceptional weather

University News Last updated 05 February 2009

Birmingham City University closed for all business at 2.00pm Thursday, February 5th due to exceptional weather conditions. The close-down affects all normal teaching and University business.

The University will remain closed today Friday, February 6th for the safety of staff, students and other visitors. This affects all campuses and sites, unless a special exception has been made for special events - staff who are aware of such events should check with head of school or department.

This decision for the close-down follows expert advice, with particular concern on how the weather will adversely impact the highways and the public transport networks throughout the region.

The University expects to operate for ‘business as usual' from Monday, (February 9th).

In case of emergency only

  • Anyone who is on campus and is experiencing an emergency should call Security Services on 0121 331 6325 or the Emergency line on 0121 331 6969. Campus security will operate as normal throughout this period.
